The Kroloch are a sentient cybernetic people in the Prime Universe.
The Robot People[]
The Kroloch come from the trinary star system of Keid. They are a race of nomadic cyborgs and robots that live entirely in space. They trade with other species for oxygen and other ingredients necessary for biological life. They are a hard-scrabble species, related to the progenitors of the robot people introduced at the ERS Valkyrie scenario "The Signal."
This branch of the "robot people" are called the Kroloch. They have spent the last few hundred years traversing the Xi Sector and the Republic Sector in a fleet of starships, stopping at habitable worlds to replenish their stores and at asteroids and moons to mine the minerals they require. They have nearly been wiped out on several occasions, but they have always managed to survive. In 2154, most of their fleet sheltered in the debris cloud of the Keid trinary star system. They are impossible to spot in a long-range scan of any kind. It is not clear whether they are still resident in the system or not.
In September of 2153, the Kroloch attacked the Altair system in order to acquire abandoned Rigelian technology. They were repelled by the ERS Ruffian during a brief period of hostilities. The Earth Republic has been at peace with the Kroloch since that time.
Kroloch Ships[]
Kroloch ships come in four sizes, and each one has two functions.
Janor Ship[]
The raider-scout, called a Janor, has starfighter weapons, good armor, and the ability to perform limited mining or resource harvesting. The raider-scouts use the bay-lander as a primary base of operations.
Kajan Ship[]
The bay-lander, called a Kajan, holds starfighters, processes raw materials into usable forms, and is also capable of difficult landing maneuvers on an asteroid or on a planet.
Kagorkos Ship[]
The cargo-missileship, called a Kagorkos, manufactures ordnance for the fleet and stores all manner of supplies including food, clothing and replacement parts.
Krolarchim[]
The fourth ship type, called a Krolarchim, is a powerplant-builder. It has several reactors and a single bay large enough to build all of the other types of ships. It defends itself with beam weapons and has hyperspace capability.
Kroloch Language[]
Lirtossa: Transformation. Becoming machine.

Ilero: person. (use this for robots and humans, interchangeably.)
